If you are a graduating high school senior who plans on attending a historically black college or university. The Tellis Educational Services LLC. offers Dr. Jonas Tellis “Beat the Odds” Scholarship every year. This Scholarship is for high school who are continuing their educations at a historically black college or university. By making this scholarship available, Tellis Educational Services' goal is to promote and bring awareness to historically black colleges and universities. 

 Who is eligible for The Dr. Jonas Tellis “Beat the odds” Scholarship?  

The applicant must: 

 • Be a senior in high school planning to attend a historically black college or university. 

 • Be accepted at an accredited college or university.  

 • Submit a letter of recommendation.  

 • 500-word essay on How will this scholarship help you. Please submit essay to Telliseducationalservices@gmail.com    

 How do I apply for this scholarship?  

The entire scholarship process is available on the Tellis Educational Services website. All applicants will submit a 500-word essay explaining how this scholarship will help them. Finally, share at least two reasons explaining why you should be chosen for the scholarship. Remember, your essay and reasoning for receiving the scholarship are the main criteria. With that in mind, make sure that you give yourself time to craft those responses. Don’t forget to proofread for spelling, grammar, and punctuation. How much is the scholarship worth?   

 The scholarship award is $2,000. The recipient will be notified in writing by the end of April 2023.  

When is this scholarship due? 

 The Dr. Jonas Tellis “Beat the odds” Scholarship deadline is June 1st, 2023.
